I believe my secret is that I truly connect with the people who have come to me to learn how to build an online business.</p>
<p>I answer their emails, provide regular teleseminars where I answer all questions, and create courses and products that help them to succeed. Just like when I was a classroom teacher, I take the responsibility for making sure each student has the tools they need to achieve their goals.</p>

Make sure they understand what you are trying to achieve, and can give you the support and training you need in order to build your business and take it to the next level. <p>You may be wondering why it is so important to make money from your list from the very beginning. There are several answers to this, but the most important is that you must get into the habit of marketing to the people on your list from the very beginning, instead of waiting until some point in the future. If you have heard that you must have ten thousand people on your list before you can make any real money online, or some other specific number, this is just not true. The first time anyone said that to me, I was surprised and told him that it was a good thing I had never received that memo, because I had been making money from the time I had less than one hundred people on my list.</p>
<p>Getting into the habit of marketing every day, whether it is by sending an email to your list, writing and submitting an article to an article directory, holding a live teleseminar, or any of a hundred other worthwhile activities, will make a huge difference in how successful you will be in your Internet business. Making some money from your small list is excellent practice for when you will make lots of money from your big list in the future.</p>
<p>Building your marketing skills will enhance everything you <span id="more-307"></span>do, both online and in person. Marketing is approximately 60% of our day, so setting up a schedule and routine is extremely important. I am certainly not an expert in this area, but I do know that continuing to improve my knowledge in this area has made a difference in my income during the past four years.</p>
<p>Go ahead and jump is a marketer to build the business you want and deserve. Every day you will want to market yourself in as many ways as possible. I have narrowed it down to fifty ways to make huge profits from a tiny list. You will want to make your own list that will be more specific to your niche and to your marketing style. Don’t be afraid to stretch yourself out of your comfort zone.</p>
<p>For example, I never thought I would be able to hold my own teleseminars. Just the thought of being on a live call with a group of people who wanted me to talk about my area of expertise was more than I could bear. My palms would become sweaty at the very thought of doing that type of marketing. I decided to challenge myself to do a teleseminar in 2006. No one was on the call with me and I was still nervous. I did two calls each week for about six weeks and the nerves disappeared. Soon I had people on my calls and I was actually looking forward to it each week. Get into the habit of marketing yourself and your business, and everything will fall into place in your business.</p>

<p>Your products and courses do not stand alone. There are other products and courses that would come before or after yours. Even if you are offering introductory courses and products on your niche topic, there are other courses and products that your prospects would find beneficial.</p>
<p>Think of everything that is offered online as falling somewhere along a space-time continuum. People who are learning are always at some point on that line, so it makes sense that they will seek more information to help them to keep moving forward. Take a look at where your information falls on this line, and then look for others who provide information that would come both before and after what you are providing. This will also give you a good idea of what other types of products you may want to <span id="more-304"></span>create in the future, in order to fill this gap.</p>
<p>The very best products and courses to promote will be those that are complimentary to yours. For example, if you are teaching people how to knit, a complimentary product might teach people how to choose the right type of yarn and other supplies. That way each product will compliment the other and both businesses can prosper.</p>
<p>Once you find two or three people who have created these complimentary offers, make arrangements to cross promote each other’s information, using affiliate links. This way everyone will be able to profit when sales are made through their marketing efforts. Use teleseminars to interview each other to expose the information to each person’s list, as well as blogging and social media. You will be able to create quite a buzz that will be good for everyone in the long run.</p>
<p>If you look at some of the most successful people on the Internet, you will see that they have used this exact technique to increase their credibility and visibility online. Follow their lead and cross promote others in complimentary niches in order to build your online business and increase your bottom line.</p>

<p>Are you trying to be perfect in your interactions with your list? Otherwise, you risk creating a misunderstanding that may hurt your business in the long run.</p>
<p>Start out by showing your expertise in your niche. Deliver your information to your prospects by email, blog post, and teleseminar in order to give them multiple ways to consume the knowledge and become comfortable with you. You may also want to create videos with either your voice or your face. All of this helps them to get to know you as well as possible without meeting you in person.</p>
<p>When the opportunity presents itself, let them see that you are not perfect. This can happen in a variety of ways, such as when you are discussing something you are not an expert in. This happened for me when I <span id="more-271"></span>began teaching technology. I was honest from the very beginning when I said that this was a challenge for me. Then I began demonstrating how to upload web pages, install blog software, and show other technical aspects of Internet marketing.</p>
<p>One time something I was attempting to teach did not work, and that broke the tension with the group. We all had a good laugh and everything changed immediately. I began to have fun teaching technology to non-techies, and they began to feel much more comfortable asking me questions on even the smallest things.</p>
<p>This led to a relationship between my prospects and I that was priceless. They finally trusted me enough to let their guard down, and I was comfortable in trying new things while I was teaching. If something did not work as it was supposed to, and that happened more often than not, everyone knew that we could start again and try it slightly differently than we had the first time. Everyone was engaged in the learning process, and we all became more creative when it came to figuring out what would work and why.</p>
<p>Look at your niche and area of expertise to see what you could share that would allow you to show your vulnerability. When we reveal ourselves to others in a way that makes us seem more human, we instantly build stronger relationships that can mean a huge difference in both the way we feel about our businesses as well as our bottom line.</p>

<p>What kind of relationship are you building with the people on your list? Do they feel comfortable with you, and trust you enough to ask you anything, knowing you will give them an honest answer every time? Creating this type of know, like, and trust factor does not come easily, but it can be accomplished if you spend some time with getting to know your prospects. I believe it has worked for me because of my email messages, my teleseminars, and my follow up techniques.</p>
<p>My emails almost always include a little something personal about me. I share what it was like to get started online in 2005, when I did not have a clue about starting an Internet business. I relate my current business to what it was like to be a classroom teacher and also work in real estate at the same time.</p>
<p>I have shared my successes, like winning twenty-five thousand dollars in Armand Morin’s contest at the <a href="http://bigseminarbigsavings.com" target="_blank">Big Seminar</a> in November of 2009, along with my mistakes, like the time I kept pressing send and accidentally sent out hundreds of messages to my list. By showing my vulnerability as a human being, my list has been <span id="more-260"></span>able to relate to me.</p>
<p>Holding teleseminars has made this even more pronounced. I will never forget the time someone asked me when it was that I got serious about being an online entrepreneur. I got choked up as I answered. I said that I got serious the day I received a letter from the bank saying that it looked like my payment were coming in later and later each month, and that if I were late on my next payment they would begin the foreclosure process. I had not planned on sharing that type of personal information, but it sure felt good to know that I could share it with the people who looked to me for guidance in how to build their own online business.</p>
<p>My follow up with the people on my list is also very different from what I have seen other marketers do. When one or two people email me and ask about something they are struggling with, I send out an email message to everyone and address the problem head on. I know if one or two people are having difficulty or confusion, there must be more people who need help with the same exact thing.</p>
<p>I answer all emails and create new products and courses based on what my list has asked from me. I believe this is the best way to build a relationship with your list so they will come to you with all of their questions. They also feel an extreme loyalty to me, asking me for my affiliate link whenever they decide to purchase someone else’s product. That means the world to me.</p>

<p>You can create raving fans very easily on the Internet. Responding to your prospects’ emails is one way of doing this, and you will be connecting with them on a deeper level. We can probably all remember when we were brand now to online marketing and needed help with some of the smallest things. I know that it would have been extremely valuable to me to have someone I could have asked a question and received a reply. Instead, days went by before I could move on. Be the person the people on your list can write to with their questions and you will build a list of loyal and raving fans in a very short period of time.</p>
<p>You need to establish this as part of your business model from the very beginning, because we are not expecting anyone to be open to receiving emails from us. By telling your list to hit the reply button and tell you what’s on their mind, you are opening yourself up to taking your relationship to a whole new level. Imagine your list feeling like you are the one to ask before they make a purchase or other major decision for their business.</p>
<p>I believe this can also be enhanced through teleseminars. I still offer a free call each month for people to <span id="more-244"></span>ask me anything they want or need to know. During those calls I answer all questions, give advice, and recommend my own and affiliate products and services. When people hear our voice they feel like they know us, and this gives us the opportunity to connect with them. It’s all about the relationship, so build that relationship with your list through your emails and teleseminars.</p>

<p>One of the smartest things you can ever do when marketing your business online is to ask the people who are already on your list what they want from you. This is the way to connect with them and to find out how you can best serve them with your knowledge and expertise of your niche topic.</p>
<p>Hold a teleseminar and invite them to ask you anything. I have done this regularly since 2007 with great success. Once I know what my list wants from me, I prepare a course to teach them.</p>
<p>My most recent course teaches <a href="http://howtomarketforsmallbusiness.com" target="_blank">how to market for small businesses</a>. My people told me they wanted to be able to make money by blogging and marketing for businesses in their city. I have been doing this since 2006, so I created a course so they could do it as well.</p>

I was a student in Teleseminar Secrets for the first time two years ago, and this is how I originally connected with him. This training changed my online business and marketing knowledge forever, so you are definitely in the right place at the right time. I have gone on to become an affiliate for Alex, and now a partner, just as he teaches in his trainings.</p>
<p>Alex challenged me to double my list back on October 15, 2008. It was during my &#8216;limo consult&#8217; with him, where we discussed how I could take my business to the next level. When I told Alex that I had 652 people on my list, he insisted that I take action to increase that number dramatically. We agreed that I would work on growing my list to at least one thousand names by the end of October, and to double my list, taking it past 1,300 names, as quickly after that as possible. I had my work cut out for me.</p>
<p>The first thing I did was to send an email to my list, asking them to refer anyone they knew who would benefit from what I teach online. Over the next few days many more people joined my list. I was amazed at how easy it was to reach out to my current subscribers and ask for their help. I learned a huge lesson from this; people really do want to help us to achieve our goals &#8211; you just need to ask them.</p>
<p>The second action I took was to create an event over at Facebook. At the time I had about 4,000 friends there, so now I was ready to invite them to a teleseminar training. I chose the topic of affiliate marketing because it is an area I have expereince with and that is of great interest to people building an internet business. I required them to join my list before they would receive the details of the teleseminar training. Many of my Facebook friends opted in to my list in order to be a part of that call.</p>
<p>The third action I implemented was to visit two forums that I had been a part of during the previous few months. Forums, both free and paid, are an excellent way to connect with people who share similar interests with you. They can work like an informal mastermind, allowing you to bounce ideas off of one another. When I told the people in these forums about my challenge with Alex, they were happy to be a part of what I was doing. Within 24 hours they began to tell others about me and what I was doing in my online business. More and more people found me and joined my list.</p>
<p>Within ten days of when I began this challenge my list had <span id="more-170"></span>reached 1,000. I knew that if I continued to move forward I would easily be able to double my list by the end of the month. I then went over to Twitter, where I had about a thousand followers at that time, and tweeted my story 140 characters at a time. People become involved in the conversation and my list continued to grow. I shared my results with my list, including them in the process every step of the way.</p>
<p>On October 25, just 10 days after speaking with Alex and taking on this challenge, I reached 1,304 &#8211; exactly double what I had started with. I continued to work on building my list and connecting with those who were already a part of my list.</p>
<p>I am now a list relationship coach, helping others to build a solid relationship with the people who have entrusted us to teach and guide them on the internet by giving us their name and email address.
